It’s A Long Way – Part 1

iteron1

Well it’s been a while, since I found the time to write a “real” post. But I guess to be part of CrazyKinux’ Blogpack animates me even more. A lot has happened since I told you, dear readers, about our live in the Heimatar region. So here’s a short summary of what has happened:

Since we were not too many capsuleers in our little corp called “Order Of IX”, life sometimes became a little boring ’round the Brutor Tribe Treasury. Some of us were more active, some just came online to check their skills. I, DocFloyd, would count myself to the first group. Naanook was also quite active, so we sometimes formed a two-man fleet and dared to enter low-sec or flew some missions together. But I always knew that there was more to this game. I wanted to go online and have several people at hand to make plexes or have roaming fleets through low-sec or even further to 0.0…

So quickly the day came, when I decided to leave our corp to find a new one that offers more possibilities. Naanook wanted to join me on that path and I started to look for a corp that would fit our needs. Naanook’s only preference was, that they are german-speaking as he doesn’t speak a word English (hehehe, just kidding – he does). He was quite right as I can say nowadays: It’s much easier to break into new territory, when you are able to talk to people in your mother-language. Well, after some research I found a post in the german EVE Online Community forum that sounded quite promising. The corporation was called “Community for Justice” and was part of the Majesta Empire, a 0.0 Alliance. They are doing PvP, PvE, Industry and Mining. Well all the stuff I am interested in. Mostly PvP of course!!!

Although I initially thought that we might not be ready for 0.0, I wrote the CEO a short Eve-Mail. We met on TeamSpeak and when our chat ended, nearly an hour had past. After that interview my decision was clear: Let’s move to 0.0! I informed Naanook and he agreed to join the guys. The time came to pack our bags, collect all those more or less useful items from the different stations and say good-bye to some inhabitants we really got used to. Scammers like Miila and pilots we fought in our little Rifters, like the RR dockateers in front of Jita.

The next part of this story will be about melancholy, expectations and rediscovering a game called EVE, that is so different in 0.0 space…

Good luck with your move into 0.0 space. I will be interested in your experiences, as I imagine someday I will end up there too. But I’m not planning on going there yet!

The thing about 0.0 is it is such a free-for-all, or so it seems. You can never be too sure about your safety – anyone can attack, anyone. Be very wary!! 0.0

Thanks ;) I can assure you, that 0.0 can be quite safe when you are in a strong alliance. And there are rules as well. Made by the inhabitants and not so much by CCP. Yes, you have to be more careful than in empire space, that’s right. The chance of beign shot while PvEing are definitely higher than in high-sec. But:

    1. You have more fun (at least I do), as you are able to PvP whenever you want. There are loads of free-roamings, gate-camps and operations.

    2. You earn more money. When I rat in a system for an hour, I get 20-30 Mio. Isk. And that’s not much, you can make up to 50 Mio. Not to speak of faction, officer or hauler-spawns.

I will tell you about my experiences in the coming weeks.

The amount of isk to be made is a huge draw … and with the upcoming Sovereignty changes, look out.

I will be following how your adventure goes, kinda nice to be at the very start of it no?
